Planets
Every planet you own makes one probe per minute per level: a level-1 planet makes 1, a level-10 planet 10. There is no capacity limit and probes never decay, so a planet can sit on a stockpile for as long as you leave it alone.
The big number on a planet is its probes; the small one underneath is its level. The ticks around the rim count the same level, up to 10.
Upgrading
Click one of your planets to see its details or upgrade it. An upgrade costs 100 × level² probes, counted from the level you are leaving:
- 100 probes to reach level 2
- 400 probes for level 3
- 900 probes for level 4, and so on up to level 10
An upgrade adds 1 probe a minute, so it takes as many minutes to earn back as it cost probes: 100 minutes for level 2, 900 for level 4. Upgrade the planets you expect to hold, and spend the rest on expansion.
Turn on Auto in the planet menu and a planet upgrades itself whenever it can afford to (see Automation). Dragging from another of your planets with C held sends exactly the probes this one still needs for its next level; with Auto on, the upgrade fires the moment the swarm lands.
A meteorite is the exception. It produces nothing and cannot be upgraded.
