About the game
Swarm MMO is a browser-based space strategy game with one resource and one gesture. Planets you own produce probes, and you drag probes at whatever you want to take. There is no build queue and no capacity limit: a planet can sit on a stockpile indefinitely, and nothing decays.
You spawn on a home planet surrounded by neutral ones, in a galaxy that also holds suns and a black hole at its core. Suns pay energy, energy pays for tech, and the black hole is the only win condition. Collapsing one destroys the whole galaxy, your own holdings included, and pays a permanent bonus in return.
Questions
Is Swarm MMO free?
Yes, and there is nothing to install. Credits are an optional currency for skins, colours and the Command Center panel; they never grant probes, production or combat strength, and meteorites and quests hand them out for free. See Credits & Cosmetics.
Do I need an account?
No. Press play and you spawn as a guest. Linking an email with a magic link keeps your progress across devices and is required before you can spend credits; credits earned as a guest follow you into the account you sign into.
What happens while I am offline?
Planets keep producing, automations keep firing, and other players keep attacking. Coming back to a smaller empire than you left is a normal outcome. See Automation.
How long does a galaxy last?
There are no rounds, and new galaxies spawn as the existing ones fill up. An individual galaxy does not last forever: its black hole eventually turns unstable and starts consuming its own garrison, and if that garrison runs out the galaxy collapses with nobody paid. Black Holes has the timeline. Prestige, energy, tech levels, credits and skins live on your account and survive every collapse.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. It runs in any modern mobile browser, and dragging, box-select and the radial menus all work on a touchscreen. Adding it to your home screen installs it as a Progressive Web App.
Where do I learn the rest?
The wiki covers every mechanic with the actual numbers, and the Discord is where clans recruit.
Guides
The wiki documents every mechanic with the numbers the code uses. If you got here from another game, the genre pages compare them side by side.
