Games like Travian
The browser MMO habit, moved to space and sped up.
Travian is one of the browser strategy games the genre grew up on: a village, four resources, a build queue, troops that march for hours, and an alliance that decides most of what happens on the server. Swarm MMO keeps the persistent shared world and the alliance, drops almost everything else, and moves it to space.

What changes
Travian is an economy game with a war on top. You plan fields, warehouses and troop production days ahead, and a successful attack is the end of a long chain of preparation. Swarm MMO has no economy to plan. Every planet produces probes at a rate set by its level, a level costs 100 × level² probes, and the decisions are about where to send what you have.
The pace follows from that. A swarm crosses a galaxy in seconds, so a border can move while you watch. What takes days is the endgame: technology bought with energy from suns, 33,835,000 energy for a full run to level 100, and a galaxy collapse that needs every sun in it.
Both games end a world on purpose. In Travian a round ends when a Wonder of the World is finished, and the next server starts from zero. In Swarm MMO one galaxy ends when its black hole collapses, the rest of the universe carries on, and prestige, technology and credits stay on your account.
What Swarm MMO does not have
- No resource economy. No fields, warehouses, merchants or crop upkeep.
- No unit roster. No tribes, scouts or siege. A fight is decided by how many probes arrive.
- No hero, oases or artefacts.
- No diplomacy system. Clan members are allies, and everyone else can be attacked.
If the economy is what kept you in Travian, the OGame comparison covers the space game that keeps it. Swarm MMO suits the part of the habit that is about territory and the alliance.
What carries over
Reading the map. Planets changing colour near yours are the same signal as a neighbour's villages growing toward you, and the answer is the same: reinforce the ones you mean to keep, and upgrade them. Clans work like an alliance, and a galaxy is only won when the clan holds every sun in it.
Play costs nothing and needs no account.
Questions
Is Swarm MMO like Travian?
In structure: a persistent browser world shared by everyone, played in short visits, with alliances. In detail it is simpler: one resource, one unit, no build queue, and attacks that land in seconds.
Does Swarm MMO run in rounds like a Travian server?
No fixed rounds. A galaxy ends when a player collapses its black hole, or when an ungarrisoned black hole goes unstable from day 14. Other galaxies are unaffected, and your account keeps its prestige, technology, credits and skins.
Can money speed things up in Swarm MMO?
No. Credits buy skins, emotes, colours and the Command Center panel. They never buy probes, production, build time or combat strength.
Is there a space game closer to Travian?
OGame keeps most of Travian's structure: several resources, build queues and fleets that take hours. The OGame comparison covers what Swarm MMO shares with it.
